CLEAN-UP AUSTRALIA DAY ON 2 MARCH 2008
4mar07cleanup_10.jpgEvery year, from Blacktown to Cambelltown,  hundreds of Filipino Australians get stuck inand clean up  their local environment bycollecting and removing rubbish on Clean Up Australia Day.

For this year, PCC-NSW together with its affiliates will be conducting the clean-up at Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside, NSW on 2 March 2008, Sunday from 9:30 am onward.

Volunteers are reminded to bring their gloves, hats, boots as well as sunscreen. Please bring also food and drinks to be shared during the fellowship after the clean-up activity. Assembly place will be at Eucalyptus Picnic Area inside the Nurragingy Reserve.

All are invited to join in this once a year community event. Please bring along your family and friends.

CONGEN LAZARO INDUCTS MANOTO AS PCC-NSW 2008 PRESIDENT
Consul General Maria Theresa P. Lazaro inducts into office the PCC-NSW 2008 officers in a simple ceremony held at the Philippine Consular Office at Sydney on 22 February 2008. 

Mr. Rey Manoto of the UPAA of Australia NSW was inducted as the new
2008off-2.jpg president of the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales (PCC-NSW).

Among the other officers inducted into office were the following: Neil Galang, representing Australian Filipino Mortgage Brokers Association as Vice President External; Marivic Manalo, representing Aguman Capangpangan as Vice President Internal; Elsa Collado, representing Ilocano Association of Australia as Secretary; Serna Ladia, representing Maharlika Inc. as Treasurer; Dr Alexis Leones, representing Philippine Language and Cultural Association as Internal Auditor; Ronaldo Villaver, representing Alpha Phi Omega Australia Inc / EVESTCCO as PRO.

The 2008 PCC-NSW Board of Directors who were also inducted into office were: Noel Bernardo, representing (Marikina Association of Sydney Australia; Robert Bock, representing APCCII; Cita Hoersch, representing St Scholastica Alumni Association; Joan Palenzuela Marks, representing Bicolanos and Friends; Dionimar “Jhun” Salazar, representing Visayan Association of Australia Inc.; Mauricio “Mao” de Vera, representing Professional Association of Filipino Australians in NSW and Ruben Amores, Immediate Past President, PCC-NSW. Director Marco Selorio of HoopDreamz was not able to attend due to prior commitments in the Gold Coast.

CLEAN-UP AUSTRALIA DAY ON 2 MARCH 2008, SUNDAY
